With human values and employability of students gaining ground in the job market, the higher education department is launching `Hosa Hejje’ (new step), an initiative with a series of programmes.
Aptamitra, Sahayog, Adalat, Manavathe, Samparka and Angla are the schemes — some new and some expanded in scope — set for launch on Tuesday by chief minister B S Yeddyurappa.
Aptamitra is about collaboration between colleges and exchange of expertise, infrastructure and other resources — the college with better resources will share it with a neighbouring college which lacks it. Higher education minister Aravind Limbavali told reporters here on Monday that the scheme would be implemented in 120 degree colleges, 90 polytechnics and 10 new engineering colleges.
