“Great teachers owe the credit,” says Vinoba Gautam, who is an education specialist with an international organisation. “Dronacharya can be an example,” added Moulindu Mishra, a teacher and president of Lucknow University Affiliated Colleges Teachers’ Association (LUACTA) who agrees with Gautam.
An address by former president APJ Kalam hinted that the tradition of remarkable teachers survived till the late 1950s. He cited the example of CV Raman who gave up the pomp of a glittering ceremony to stand by a student who was wrapping up his PhD thesis.
