HRD minister Kapil Sibal said on Tuesday that while caution in letting foreign educational providers in India is well advised, the country should not miss the opportunity.
Replying to a question in the Rajya Sabha on the joint working group on education with US, Sibal said, “We would like high quality educational institutions to come to India through collaborations. We would not accept any fly-by-night operators and institutions of dubious nature to come to India.”
He said that during the visit of the US Under Secretary, William Burns, last month, a joint working group (JWG) headed by himself (Sibal) and the US secretary of education, had been proposed for cooperation in the field of education.
